I came across a statistic one day that was staggering. Almost 70% of believers that come to church on any given Sunday, feel a lack of self-worth to come before God. The lack of self-worth comes from the struggle of sin or past sins that a person struggles with. “Am I truly forgiven?” goes through the mind of a person with a sin-filled past or a person with a struggling present.
Paul helps us all in this area because he just lays it all out there. “I’m the worst sinner you’ll ever meet, but I’m saved by the best Savior you’ll ever meet!” Jesus didn’t not come for the perfect, He came for the imperfect. He didn’t come for the healthy, He came for the sick. He didn’t come for the saint, He came for the Sinner; of which I am the worst. All I can say is that I am so glad “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.” And the “I’m proof” is the testimony to His love and saving power. Just remember that a sinner has no hope until the sinner meets Christ. We have hope! That’s “a word you can take to heart and depend on.”
