The JOURNEY- Guilty By Association –
Romans 1:16 NIV – For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation…
There will be times that you may be accused of something because of your connection or relation to the person that’s being accused or found to be guilty. That was Paul when he said “I am not ashamed of the Gospel”. How about you?
If I’m accused of being a believer because I belong to Christ, then I can save everyone some time, I’m guilty! If you want to accuse me of believing in the Bible or if you’re accusing me of having morals based on God’s Word then, yes, I’m guilty! If I am accused of standing up for what I know to be right, true, and just because of what Jesus taught, then I am guilty! If I’m accused in anyway of being associated with Christ, great, praise the Lord, Amen!
I will always save you the trouble of having a trial because, as Paul said, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation!” I emphasize that point, “it, the Gospel, is the power!” There is no other power than that of Christ death that saves and sets man or woman free. Protest and marches won’t set people free from sin. Government will not set people free from their sins. Nothing can set people free from the grip of sin, but the Power of Christ Blood!
How about you? If you’re more empowered by a movement or government than you are the Blood, then your power will fade. If you’re more empowered by His Blood, then your power is eternal. Would you be found to be guilty by your association with Christ? Or would people be surprised to know you believe in Christ?
