The JOURNEY- TALK LESS – 1Tim.6:21 MSG – “People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the point of faith…”
Everyone has an opinion nowadays. I have one, you have one, all God’s children has an opinion. Everyone has a perspective they want people to see or a point they want to make. Everyone has a voice they want heard.
At times, I think our testimony of faith would be more effective if we talked less and listened more. It’s easy, as Paul says, to get “caught up in a lot of talk” and “miss the whole point of faith.” And life of faith is not about opinions, perspectives, and points. A life of faith is about the expression and the glorification of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If the Holy Spirit isn’t in my opinions, points, and perspectives then they matter very little. Actually, they can end up doing more harm than good.
I refuse to get “caught up in a lot of talk” that isn’t Christ honoring and loving. Whenever Jesus spoke, it was to make a spiritual point, help people see from an eternal perspective, and never just gave an opinion. He spoke words that were meaningful not mean-filled. If we talk more about our walk of faith in Christ, we’d be way more likely to win the lost. Don’t “miss” the point of your life of faith by getting caught up in a lot of talk. The person with the loudest voice is often the one that talks the least.
