The JOURNEY- WORRIED -Prov.12:25 MSG – “Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging words cheers a person up.”

Google “what worry does” and see what pops up.

I don’t need to go into a long list of negatives about what worry does to the brain and body. Worry is probably one of the most unhealthy things we can do in life. One study found that 85% of what we worry about never even occurs. The sum of what worry does? “Worry weighs a person down.” That person is you. You worry about your car, family, home, work, problem people, health, wealth, and it keeps going. There is a lot for you to worry about if you allow yourself to worry but “an encouraging word cheers (picks) a person up.”

Jesus is the most encouraging word I know to say when worry attacks me. Say His Name a few times when you feel a worried presence coming on. Look at all the times someone worried came to Him but left encouraged. I’ve never left my time with Jesus worried. I sure came to Him worried a few times but never left Him worried one time.

I realized that worry is something I carry and, just as easy as I carry it, I can lay it down. If I lay it lay it at His feet I’m far less likely to pick it back up again. Need an encouraging Word? Matthew 11:28-30 will cheer or pick you up. You don’t have to carry that worry when you have a Savior who can take it away. Give it to Him now, read the Word and see if you don’t actually feel better!
