The JOURNEY – FAR MORE – Phil.3:20 MSG – “But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven!”
I never rarely see what I need to see in life. I’ve often wondered if I’m the only one or if others miss what I miss. It’s so easy for me to see things on the surface.
I’d like to feel that I see things differently and better now than I did earlier in life, and I probably do to some extent, but still not enough. There’s far more to this life than you or I will ever realize. “Far more to life for us.” as Paul puts it.
I constantly have to remind myself that this place we call earth is not my home. It’s easy to get caught up in life down here and forget that, one day, we’ll be caught up in the air up there. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t enjoy life down here by no means. I think we should savor every moment the savior has given us while here on planet earth.
Some people have their heads in the clouds and forget they’re on earth. While here, we have a mission. In the science fiction movies the mission is Mars. In real life, the mission is Earth. We’ve been placed here by the Master of the universe on a mission to reach the lost by letting them know that “there’s far more to life” than what we see. We are on this earth in this life but there is another life in a far better place. We’re here but we will not stay here.
Paul says “We’re citizens of high heaven!” This is a stopping place. A beautiful place but not “The Place”. It’s like traveling to another country but realizing, as beautiful as it might be, you still belong to another country. We belong to heaven and were made for heaven but we’ve made this brief stop here on earth and there’s far more to life than what we will ever see.
You probably have some really big plans for this year, and that’s good. Enjoy life to it’s fullest while here on your mission but don’t get stuck here because there is “far more to life” than what you’ll ever see in this life.
